Athina Filippou-Katehis is currently the assistant to the director of the Direct Archdiocesan District Office of Education. 

Athina joined the Office in April 2013 when she moved to NYC from Greece. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education (2010) from University of Patras, Greece, a Certificate in "Issues of Psycho-Pedagogics in School and Family" (2012) from University of Athens, Greece. She recently graduated with an Advanced Certificate in “Early Intervention & Parenting” under the M.S. in Early Childhood Education, Brooklyn College, CUNY. Athina is also trained in DAYC & BAYLEY Infant & Child Developmental Assessments.

Athina Filippou has an experience as a teacher in elementary public schools in Greece, in Greek-American schools in NYC, and differentiated early childhood centers in NYC as well.   Despite her duties at the Office, Ms Filippou has been a member of the writing committee of the Comprehensive Examination in Modern Greek (Greek Regents) since 2013.
