The need for substantive adult education programs in our parishes is tremendous. We cannot overstate the fact that we live in a very challenging world, and we are confronted with attitudes and values that lead hearts and minds away from the truth as revealed to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. People in the Church have been calling for “adult education” for many years. The religious education of children can take one only so far. We encourage education for our children into college and graduate school so that they can excel in life. Expanding religious education into adulthood could help them excel in faith. The need to continue our education in faith into adulthood is apparent, yet to do so requires adjusting our vision.
