March is International Women’s History Month, and it would only be proper to celebrate it by honoring the women of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. We want to showcase the wonderful women who work for our beloved Archdiocese and its Affiliated Institutions this March to celebrate their contributions and the talents they bring to our Church. This second week we present the resilient women of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.

Lailu S. Walls

Position: Controller at the Finance Department

From her earliest days, Lailu was instilled with the profound significance of faith, diligent work ethic, community involvement, and philanthropy—all in reverence to God. Remaining steadfast to these principles, she has meticulously laid the groundwork for herself and her family, guided by her unwavering commitment to uphold these values. Harnessing her aptitude for numbers, Lailu pursued a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), specializing in serving nonprofit organizations dedicated to aiding the less fortunate and religious institutions, notably the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Through her dedication to her profession and her unwavering devotion to charitable causes, Lailu continues to embody the principles instilled in her from a young age, making a meaningful impact on those she serves and the community at large.

What is the role of faith in my life?

In Psalm 139, David's praying to God and he says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made, with unique gifts, passions, and experiences that equip me for a specific purpose in God’s kingdom”.

The role of faith in my life has enabled me to use my spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality and experiences to serve others, in glory of God, and advance His kingdom by seeking opportunities to share His love, use my talents for His glory, and be a faithful servant and witness of His grace in all areas of my life.
