St. Stephen's Camp Summer 2024 - Let Us Lift Up Your Hearts

St. Stephen's Camp has a rich tradition, dating back to the 1980's, and is grounded on the principals of living a true Orthodox lifestyle with twice daily liturgical services, opportunities for reflection, community living and meals, athletics, arts & crafts, and nightly social activities.

  • Homesickness
It is not uncommon for campers to be homesick.  We will work with campers and make every effort to integrate them into the program.  However, despite our best efforts, there are some campers who are so homesick that they do not/will not participate in the activities. These campers become detrimental to the other campers because of the strain it puts on counselors and staff.  In such circumstances, a parent will be called and asked to pick up your child from camp at the expense of the parents.  Participation will be under review for Summer 2024 pending a discussion with the camper, parents and home parish priest as to whether a camper is ready to try camp again.

    Leaving Early due to Discipline
Any camper who violates our code of conduct and rules which call for expulsion from camp will be sent home immediately at the expense of the parents.  Any camper sent home from camp for disciplinary reasons may not be allowed to participate the following year and possibly other Metropolis events.  Depending on the nature of the infraction, i.e. if a crime has been committed, the one-year ban may be extended indefinitely.
