His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America arrived in Boca Raton on Thursday, March 16, 2023, for a pastoral visit to Saint Mark Greek Orthodox Church. Upon arrival at the airport, he was greeted by Clergy and Archons of Saint Mark. During his first evening he attended a dinner with Saint March Church Parish Priest, Rev. Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Mark and Presbytera Anastasia Leondis, along with Rev. Presbyter Alexander Kamilaris, and faithful members of the Parish Council and spouses. Parish Council President, Jim Dovas, offered introductory remarks and welcomed His Eminence to Boca Raton saying, “We are truly excited for your Archpastoral visit to Boca Raton and pray that your time here is blessed. Thank you for coming.”

 

It was a joyous and uplifting event for the faithful of Saint Mark to spend time and get to know their Archbishop in a personal way. His Eminence expressed his paternal love to each of them and thanked them for their selfless service to the Church, both local and national.

 

Today, Friday, March 17, 2023, Archbishop Elpidophoros continued his pastoral visit to Saint Mark Church with an intimate lunch at the Leondis residence with the Senators for Orthodoxy and Hellenism of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The faithful Senators and spouses in attendance shared and exchanged ideas related to the life of the Archdiocese. The Archbishop was pleased to hear the important words of senior clergy and illustrious women and men of the Church, who offered their experience of living as an Orthodox Christian in America.

 

At the meeting were Senators Rev. Protopresbyters Alexander and Mary Leondis, James and Bea Moulketis, Peter Chamberas, Dean Paleologos, Pres. Cindy Paleologos, Lou and Helen Nicozisis, Archon Michael and Kay Johnson, Archon Stamatios and Anita Kartalopoulos, along with Deacon Petro Gomez and the hosts, the Reverend Mark and Presbytera Anastasia Leondis.
