Passing of Mrs. Maria Makedon

It is with great sadness that the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America learned of the passing of Mrs. Maria Makedon on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Mrs. Makedon served the Department of Greek Education for 48 years, from 1970-2018. Her professionalism, passion and love for education and the Greek language and culture has inspired so many who will continue to cultivate Greek Education in the United States and around the world.

May her legacy live on and may her memory be eternal!
