New Annotated Guide to the Sunday Gospel Readings

New York - The Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries(Y2AM) has launched an ongoing project to create an easy to use annotated guide to the Triodion, Great Lent, and Holy Week Gospel readings.

The first entry, for the Sunday of the Publican and Pharisee, is available here.  Readers can click on highlighted text to view relevant quotes from Scripture and Church Fathers, and helpful explanations of interesting topics.

This project is under the direction of Fr. Jason Roll, National Director.  Project Editor is Steven Christoforou, Youth Protection / Parish Ministries Coordinator, working in close collaboration with the Advanced Exegesis Class at Holy Cross School of Theology, taught by Dr. Bruce Beck, Assistant Professor of New Testament at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and Director of the Pappas Patristic Institute.

This will be an invaluable resource to help youth and young adults better understand the Sunday readings.  It will also be helpful for parish Bible Studies and other parish and personal uses.

Readings will be hosted on http://genius.com/artists/Y2am.  New entries will be released every week on the various Y2AM social media outlets.
