Lombard, IL, January 15, 2024 — The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago today announced the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to 15 parishes in the Chicago area for the co-location of the Metropolis Center at one parish campus.
More than 50 individuals representing the 15 parishes were invited to a presentation by His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael outlining the RFP and its objective on January 11. The RFP seeks bold and innovative proposals from the invited parishes. The deadline for proposals is 5 p.m. on March 11, 2024.
“Above all else, we seek imaginative proposals with a creative vision unencumbered by cost constraints or short-term thinking. By passionate choice, our Christ-centered Metropolis is parish-driven and forward-thinking. This RFP process holds true to this understanding of who we are and, God willing, the proposals we receive will reflect this same spirit,” His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael said.
The RFP seeks a rich, long-term understanding of how a collaboration would enhance the vision and work of both the parish and the Metropolis. Specifically, the RFP asks participating parishes to help satisfy the Metropolis of Chicago’s needs, which include: support for the Vision for Growth; adequate physical space requirements for current operations; a forecast for expansion of building space and facilities; and a long-term ministries growth plan.
Parishes are instructed to focus their proposal on the spirit and objectives of the RFP, with a lesser focus upon financing ability and methods.
The 15 parishes were selected based on their proximity to the City of Chicago. Preference will be given to a parish campus within the City of Chicago, but a compelling proposal from a suburban parish will be seriously considered and therefore are highly encouraged. The 15 parishes are:

- Assumption, Chicago
- Holy Cross, Justice
- Holy Apostles, Westchester
- Holy Taxiarhai & St. Haralambos, Niles
- Holy Trinity, Schiller Park
- Saint Andrew, Chicago
- Saint Basil, Chicago
- Saint Demetrios, Chicago
- Saint Demetrios, Elmhurst
- Saint George, Chicago
- Saint John the Baptist, Des Plaines
- Saint Nicholas, Oak Lawn
- Saint Spyridon, Palos Heights
- Saints Constantine and Helen, Palos Hills
