NEW YORK – The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will celebrate on March 25, 2010 the Feast of the Annunciation of the Theotokos and the 189th Anniversary of the start of the Greek War for Independence of 1821. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of Holy Trinity, followed by a Doxology servicein commemoration of the day.  

Orthros will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Doxology Service. A ceremony and reception will be offered at the adjacent Cathedral Center, immediately following the church services.

The Omogeneia is invited to partake in this dual feast and commemoration of Orthodoxy and Hellenism in the presence of the Consular and Diplomatic representatives of Greece and Cyprus and the representatives of the Greek-American organizations, associations and federations.
