Fifth National Young Adult Pilgrimage to the Holy Lands

NEW YORK – The National Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries is pleased to announce its 5th National Young Adult Pilgrimage. This year’s Pilgrimage to the Holy Lands will take place from May 15-24, 2010. Once again, the pilgrimage will be led by His Grace Bishop Savas of Troas, the Director of Church, Society and Culture for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Young Adults will have the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of our Lord, re-tracing and re-living His life and ministry. The Pilgrimage will depart from New York and travel to Tel Aviv, where we will visit Jerusalem, Nazareth, Cana, Mount of Olives, the Sea of Galilee and Gethsemane. From there we will travel to Sinai and visit St. Catherine’s Monastery and it’s famous collection of icons, the burning bush, Mount Horeb (where Moses received the Ten Commandments). Returning to Jerusalem, we will have a private audience with His Beatitude Theophilos III, and visit other beautiful and historic churches and sites.

“We have been offering these Pilgrimages for our young adults to give them the opportunity to not only grow in their Faith, but to travel with other young adults from throughout our Archdiocese and have a first-hand experience of our historic Church”, stated Fr. Mark Leondis, the Archdiocesan Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

Full details and registration for this Pilgrimage is available here.  Space is limited to 30 young adults and is on a first come first served basis.
