Call for Papers: 2024 Clergy-Laity Congress

Submission Deadline: January 1, 2024

The Organizing Committee of the 2024 Clergy-Laity Congress invites members of our Metropolises, parishes, organizations, and local ministries to submit proposals for presentations, workshops, and booth presentations that showcase best practices, innovative ideas, and valuable lessons learned in various aspects of ministry. This is an opportunity to share your insights and experiences with a diverse audience of clergy and laity members from across the Archdiocese.

Presentation Topics:

We encourage submissions in the following categories, but not limited to:

· Worship and Liturgy: Sharing meaningful rituals, engaging worship practices, and creative liturgical approaches.

· Community Engagement: Effective methods for community outreach, social justice initiatives, and building inclusive church communities.

· Spiritual Formation: Strategies for fostering spiritual growth, discipleship, and nurturing a deeper faith.

· Leadership and Administration: Managing church affairs, organizational leadership, and financial stewardship.

· Education and Teaching Ministry: Strategies for effective Sunday school programs, curriculum development, adult education, and catechism

· Interfaith Relations: Promoting dialogue and understanding between different faith traditions.

· Cultural Celebrations and Community Outreach: Organizing cultural festivals and food events to celebrate diversity within the faith community.

· Mental Health and Spiritual Well-being: Integrating mental health support within the framework of spiritual care.

· Environmental Stewardship and Creation Care: Inspiring eco-consciousness and responsible stewardship of the environment.

· Youth and Family Ministry: Innovations in engaging youth and families, addressing their unique needs and challenges.

· Technology and Ministry: Utilizing technology for virtual worship, online engagement, and communication within the parish.

Submission Guidelines:

1. Proposals should include:

a. Title of the Program or Ministry

b. Abstract (100 words max)

c. Longer description of the ministry or program and its impact on the community (500 words max)

d. URL Link to the website for the program or ministry

e. Brief bio of the presenter(s).

2. Indicate the preferred format: ministry panel, workshop, or booth exhibition (preference only. All proposals will be considered for all formats)

3. Presenters can be individuals, teams, or organizations.

4. Submissions must be sent to [email protected] by the deadline.

Selection Process:

· All submissions will be reviewed by a committee of experts and representatives from the Clergy-Laity Organizing Committee

· Submissions will be evaluated based on relevance, originality, clarity, and potential impact.

· Selected presenters will be notified by January 22, 2024 and provided with further instructions.
