Archdiocesan Cathedral Choir and Youth Choir Perform Concert at Holy Trinity Monastery in Halki, Prayer for Rhodes Event

ARCHDIOCESAN CATHEDRAL CHOIR & YOUTH CHOIR PERFORM CONCERT AT HOLY TRINITY MONASTERY IN HALKI, PRAYER FOR RHODES EVENT


The Archdiocesan Cathedral Choir and Youth Choir of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York, received an audience with His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I following the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, July 23rd. On July 24th they performed the concert “From Byzantium to America: A Musical Timeline of Ecclesiastical and Popular Hymns & Songs” at the gates of the Holy Trinity Monastery in Halki, under the High Patronage of His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I. His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America was also in attendance. 

On Thursday evening July 27th, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Rhodes, the Archdiocesan Cathedral Choir & Youth Choir presented “A Prayer for Rhodes” at the Annunciation Cathedral of Rhodes, a musical offering of hymns dedicated to the people of Rhodes and in memory of the two firefighter pilots who fell in the line of duty while battling the wildfires in Greece.

The Archdiocesan Cathedral Choir & Youth Choir travel next to the island of Nisyros, where they will present a concert of Ecclesiastical and secular songs on Saturday July 29th, and chant the Divine Liturgy at the church of Panagia Potamitissa on Sunday July 30th. The Archdiocesan Cathedral Choir & Youth Choir are under the direction of Maestro Costas Tsourakis.
