On March 28, 2023, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America met with His Excellency Archbishop Timothy Broglio, President of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), at the USCCB Headquarters in Washington DC. Archbishop Broglio, who began his tenure as President in November 2022, welcomed Archbishop Elpidophoros together with members of the general secretariat: Rev. Michael J.K. Fuller and Rev Paul B.R. Hartman, joined by Rev. Walter F. Kedjierski, Executive Director of the Secretariat of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs, and Rev. Dr. Ronald G. Roberson, CSP. Archbishop Elpidophoros was accompanied by Rev. Protopresbyter Panagiotis Papazafiropoulos and Rev. Protopresbyter Nicolas Kazarian.

During the meeting, they discussed the close relationship between His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and His Holiness Pope Francis as the foundation for a stronger Catholic-Orthodox collaboration in the United States, not only through theological dialogue, but also through common witness vis-à-vis contemporary social issues.
