Archbishop Elpidophoros Arrives in Nassau, Bahamas for a four-day pastoral visit to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America arrived in Nassau, Bahamas February 22, 2024 for a four-day pastoral visit to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.  His Eminence was greeted at the airport by the Proistamenos of the parish, Fr. Irenaeus Cox, Parish Council President Alexandra Maillis-Lynch, Alex and Patricia Maillis and their children, Archon Chris Tsavoussis and parishioners and children from the parish. Later in the evening a dinner was held with the parish council and leaders of their many ministries. Also in attendance was the Chancellor of the Archdiocesan District, Fr. Elias Villis. In his remarks His Eminence said of the faithful leadership of the parish, “The presence of the Annunciation Parish in the Caribbean is extremely important for Orthodoxy, and for the ministry of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. You are more than a community of Greek Orthodox living your lives and practicing your spiritual traditions. You are a representation - a manifestation - of the Great Church of Christ, the Mother Church of Constantinople, in this historic country.” On Sunday, Archbishop Elpidophoros will preside over the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy and ordination of Alexander Maillis to the Holy Diaconate.
