OCTOBER 21, 2010

NEW YORK – Archbishop Demetrios of America will present a special lecture devoted to physicians and the medical profession entitled “Honor the Physician: The Healing Arts in Orthodox Biblical Perspective.”

The lecture is organized in cooperation with the Hellenic Medical Society of New York and it will take place in the Archdiocesan Cathedral Center, Thursday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. (337 East 74th Street, NYC).

“It is a great honor for the members of our Society to be invited to this special lecture by his Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, that provides us a biblical perspective of the healing arts, and explores the links between Orthodoxy and Medicine,” said Dr. George Tsioulias, M.D., the President of the Hellenic Medical Society, who will introduce the lecture. The Archiepiscopal lecture is specifically intended for physicians and those in related professions but is also open to the public. A reception will follow.
