Archbishop Demetrios Offers Prayers for Victims of California Wildfires

New York, NY - As the catastrophic wildfires continue to burn and gain momentum in Southern California, Archbishop Demetrios of America, on behalf of the Holy and Eparchial Synod of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, offers his prayers and the prayers of the Greek Orthodox community in America, for the swift extinguishment of the numerous fires that have destroyed lives, homes, livelihoods and over 350,000 acres of land in Southern California.

"We are deeply concerned for all residents of the areas in California that are being targeted by these devastating wildfires. Greek Americans know firsthand of the destructive effect of such fires as our homeland of Greece has recently been besieged by fires and is only now beginning to recover. On behalf of the Greek Orthodox Community I offer my steadfast prayers and loving support to all of the residents of California and I will continue to pray for their strength and resolve during this time." Archbishop Demetrios stated.
