New York, NY - His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, spiritual leader of 1.5 million Greek Orthodox Christians in the United States, has been invited to attend the inauguration of President-Elect George W. Bush on Saturday, January 20th and to participate in the Inaugural Prayer Service on Sunday, January 21st.
The Inaugural Prayer Service will be held at Washington National Cathedral beginning at 8:30 a.m. President George W. Bush, Vice President Richard Cheney and members of the Cabinet will attend the Prayer Service. His Eminences participation will include the reading of the 23rd Psalm.
Archbishop Demetrios will also attend several other related events during the Inauguration Weekend.
