Archbishop Demetrios Guest Preacher At Harvard Memorial Church January 28th , 2001

New York, NY -– His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, will be the Guest Preacher at Harvard Memorial Church, Cambridge, MA on Sunday, January 28th at 11:00 a.m. His sermon topic will be “ God in Human Form: Vision, Transformation and Power.”

The Memorial Church of Harvard University represents the continuity of public worship at Harvard since its foundation in 1636, testifying to the continuing vitality of that tradition in the modern University. Internationally distinguished guest preachers and religious leaders have played a major role in furthering this tradition of worship and praise.

Archbishop Demetrios, a graduate of the University of Athens School of Theology, received a Ph.D. from Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. For ten years he was Distinguished Professor of Biblical Studies and Christian Origins at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, MA, and was a Visiting Professor of the New Testament at Harvard Divinity School.
