His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America to Receive the 2024 James Parks Morton Interfaith Award by the Interfaith Center of New York

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America will receive the prestigious James Parks Morton Interfaith Award from the Interfaith Center of New York (ICNY) on June 10th, 2024. The award is named after ICNY’s founder the Very Rev. James Parks Morton, who was Dean of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine from 1972 to 1996 and recognizes individuals who promote understanding and respect, values shared by the world’s great religious traditions.

The gala is an annual event to raise funds for ICNY, a secular non-profit organization with a mission to overcome prejudice, violence, and misunderstanding by activating the power of the city’s grassroots religious and civic leaders and their communities.

Previous recipients include Nobel Peace Laureates Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Shirin Ebadi, Mohamed ElBaradei, Leymah Gbowee, and Vice President Al Gore.

For over 25 years, ICNY's gala has been a vibrant gathering place for a diverse collection of two hundred fifty plus of our city’s diverse religious leaders, civic leaders, past and current honorees, donors, and friends. This year's gala will also honor singer, songwriter, and social activist Judy Collins.

Tickets and tables are available for purchase here. The event invitation is attached, and you can learn more about the event and its history here.
