Newest Metropolis Archons—Harry Athanasiou and Peter Tsudis

Each year, the Metropolis is invited to nominate two men to be recognized as Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in acknowledgment of their dedicated service to their parish, Metropolis, Archdiocese, and the Patriarchate in various ways. This year, the Metropolis has nominated Mr. Harry Athanasiou and Mr. Peter Tsudis, both of Pittsburgh. The Archon Investiture ceremony took place on Sunday, October 22 at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity following the Divine Liturgy.

Each candidate must be nominated by two current Archons and must receive the recommendations of the Regional Commander (Archon Peter Papadakos), their respective parish priests, and must be blessed by Metropolitan Savas before they can be considered by the Patriarchate for the honor. Other Archons invested during the tenure of His Eminence include: Michael Kusturiss Jr & Philip Yamalis (2012), John Kalucis & Nicholas Lekas (2013), Angelo Coutris & Michael Psaros (2014), Nicholas Terezis & Adam Tzagournis (2015), and Nicholas Latousakis (2016).
