New Camp Coordinator Hired

His Eminence Metropolitan Savas is pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Marina Papafil as the new Camp Ministries Coordinator (CMC).  A native of Cleveland, Marina attended the Metropolis Camp program through the end of high school before attending The Ohio State University to study Communications.  Following her graduation she worked as an assistant in the Metropolis Youth Office and in a consulting firm until joining the Ionian Village team.  For three years she worked in the Ionian Village office, helping facilitate the unique oversease camping and travel experience for over 400 campers each summer.  Following her move to Washington DC, she returned to Ionian Village to be the Assistant Program Director in 2016, working with the Director on-site in Greece.

Metropolitan Savas is also grateful to the work of Mr. Theodore Cherpas, who for the past 2 1/2 years served as the first CMC for the Metropolis.  Ted brought great dedication and care to the ministry, and His Eminence is confident that he will bring those same strengths to his work as the Youth Director for the parish of Sts. Constantine & Helen in Cleveland Heights, OH.
