Women's History Month Highlight: Paulette Poulos, Executive Director Leadership 100

March is International Women’s History Month, and it would only be proper to celebrate it by honoring the women of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. We want to showcase the wonderful women who work for our beloved Archdiocese and its Affiliated Institutions this March to celebrate their contributions and the talents they bring to our Church. This week we present the resilient women of Leadership 100.

Paulette Poulos, Executive Director Leadership 100

I am truly Blessed to have been involved in the life of the Church for many decades.  I am a member of Three Hierarchs Church, Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, St. Fanourios and support a number of parishes.

I began my service in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in the Department of Laity and served as Associate Director of Youth Ministry, Director of LOGOS, and Administrator for Archbishop Iakovos of Blessed Memory.  I served on the Governing Board of the National Council of Churches, National Youth Commission and worked together with George Behrakis in the fundraising and completion of the Archbishop Iakovos Library and Resource Center at Hellenic College/Holy Cross School of Theology.  In my present capacity as Executive Director of Leadership 100, I have worked with the Executive Committee, Board of Trustees and Grant Committee in securing grant funds for Clergy, Presvyteres, seminarians and vital ministries of our Archdiocese and Metropolises. I have travelled throughout the Metropolises and have met so many exceptional people who love the Church and offer their support.

I am humbled to be the first woman to serve in the capacity of Director and I encourage all young women to consider pursuing a career of service to our beloved Archdiocese and Metropolises. I have always felt welcome in the Archdiocese and I am confident that the young women today will have an opportunity to offer their valuable service which will leave a legacy for women to follow.

Archbishop Elpidophoros has warmly welcomed and supported all women in joining the staff of the Archdiocese and for those of you seeking to find a rewarding profession, I urge you to come forward and be part of this Archdiocese family.

What is the role of Faith in my life?

I cannot envision a life without Faith and the Church! My beloved Parents instilled in me and my siblings the power of Prayer which has followed me throughout my lifetime. I feel the presence of God in my daily life and His guidance has helped me to offer my time, talent and treasures for the Church and for people in need. I feel Blessed to have received so much more than I have given during my years of service.
