The Sea is Sacred: Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to co-host virtual side event to UN Ocean Conference

Through the Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will co-host a virtual side event to the UN Ocean Conference on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 8:00 am EST. This side event will highlight the challenges in addressing the continued deterioration of the marine environment by deep-sea mining with a faith-based approach. Several different faith ideologies will be presented with one central goal: using faith to respond to consequences of deep-sea mining. There will be pragmatic examples from around the world of what different faiths are doing to implement frameworks to stop ocean degradation.

The event is open to the public. All are welcome to join and participate. Please register here.
