IOCC Texas Disaster Response

After a devastating winter storm hit Texas, plus power and water outages, IOCC deployed a Site Manager and emergency response truck to the Houston area. Together with NECHAMA Jewish Response to Disaster, the team mucked out two homes. IOCC also coordinated with Mennonite Disaster Services near Austin and a local Orthodox parish to deliver plumbing supplies to help repair water damage from burst pipes, for little or no cost. IOCC is now working with additional area parishes and local partners to deliver more plumbing supplies. Last but not least, IOCC’s specially trained Frontliners have made Care Calls to the 60+ head priests of Texas parishes, and IOCC shared these virtual emotional and spiritual care tools with jurisdictional offices overseeing Texas, so they could share them with their parishes.
