Archbishop Elpidophoros of America Celebrates the Three Hierarchs and Greek Letters Day at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity

On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America celebrated the Feastday of the Three Hierarchs and Greek Letters Day with the children of the Cathedral School, Greek American Institute (GAI) in the Bronx, A. Fantis School in Brooklyn, DGK in Brooklyn, St. Demetrios Cathedral School in Astoria, and William Spyropoulos Day School in Flushing at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. His Eminence presided over Divine Liturgy and cut a Vasilopita His Eminence distributed to the children. "I urge you to always approach your studies through the lens of these Three Holy Hierarchs, so that the knowledge you gain through your lifetime is always exercised in accordance with the wisdom of God, which makes the application of learning truly profitable and fruitful" said Archbishop Elpidophoros.

After Divine Liturgy, children from each school shared special presentations to celebrate this Holy Feast. Mrs. Athena Kromidas, from the High Council for Greek Education served as Mistress of Ceremonies. The children and guests were greeted by Dr. Anastasios Koularmanis, Director of the Department of Greek Education. Also in attendance were  Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Fr. Nektarios Papazafiropoulos, Dean of the Cathedral Fr. Chrysostomos Gilbert, Assistant Director of Greek Education Fr. Gregory Stamkopoulos, Fr. Vasileios Tsourlis, and Athena Filippou, Assistant Director of the District Office of Education.
