Archbishop Elpidophoros Meets with Pittsburgh, Denver Clergy to Discuss GOA Charter Revisions

Discussions on the revision of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese’s Charter continued on Thursday, August 3, as His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America held virtual forums with clergy from the Metropolises of Pittsburgh and Denver.

His Eminence Metropolitan Savas offered welcoming remarks at the Pittsburgh meeting, after which clergy had the opportunity to share their questions, feedback, and personal insights and hopes for the future of the Church with the Archbishop and one another. Approximately 100 clergy participated across both sessions.

In the vein of the broad engagement, transparency, and dialogue that have characterized this Charter revision process, similar meetings are expected to take place in each of the other Metropolises over the next several months. His Eminence has previously met with clergy from the Archdiocesan District and the Metropolises of Boston, New Jersey, Detroit, and Chicago.

Clergy and faithful are encouraged to attend other meetings in their area as they are scheduled. Further information, updates, and opportunities for submitting questions and comments are available at the dedicated site for the GOA Charter: charter.goarch.org
