The Friends of St. Nicholas, True Friends of Christ
Deat Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
With the finishing touches being put on our Saint Nicholas National Shrine, and the installation of the full program of Iconography, I would like to offer this reflection and appreciation of the group of heroes who have made this monumental accomplishment possible: The Friends of St. Nicholas.
You know their names; this small band of brothers and sisters is listed in this Newsletter, but allow me to call out my co-workers by name, because there is a change in the listing that you might not see at first:

If you looked closely, you will notice that our Chair and Vice-Chair have changed positions. Dennis Mehiel, who has served as Chairman from the beginning of the Friends of St. Nicholas, has stepped down, and that Michael Psaros has assumed the chairmanship. Allow me, if you will, to say a few words about Dennis, as he concludes his service as Chair.
Dennis Mehiel has been from the beginning, and long before the Friends came into existence, an unwavering and unshakeable driving force behind the rebuilding of Saint Nicholas, a lay partner to Fr. Alex, who led from the priestly side.
