For those of you interested in volunteering for Project Mexico, please note that the Archdiocese does not have any supervision or control over the facilities at Project Mexico, nor is the Archdiocese responsible for sponsoring or organizing volunteer trips there. Therefore, the decision for any group to volunteer with Project Mexico must belong to its individual members and should take into consideration the relative dangers posed by such a trip, including those associated with travel to Mexico. For example, if a State Department travel advisory asks US citizens to reconsider travel to Mexico due to crime and kidnapping which are common throughout Mexico. Any interested persons in volunteering with Project Mexico should consider such risks, as well as the safeguards offered by Project Mexico, before deciding to proceed with the project.
