Brooklyn, NY (August 4, 2020) The Greek School of Plato is pleased to announce Paul T. Politis, MPA as its first Executive Director in the organization’s history. Mr. Politis will lead the Greek School of Plato in bringing the school expansion project to fruition in its inaugural year, manifesting Plato’s long history in the community with a physical presence. Under his leadership, the organization looks forward to the implementation of marketing and fundraising initiatives to create robust revenue growth and the expansion of Hellenic educational and cultural programs. 

 

Mr. Politis brings more than 15 years of nonprofit administration and fundraising experience to this role, including nonprofit leadership, grant writing, and nonprofit operations. He joins the Greek School of Plato from the Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry, where he was the Director of Operations for six years. As Director of Operations, Mr. Politis was instrumental in increasing the organization’s national notoriety and helped raise over $3 million in fundraising and grant application awards.

Prior to his role at the Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry, Mr. Politis held leadership roles at the Catholic Archdiocese of New York, where he was Regional Director of the southern counties of New York for three years, in which he helped raise over $5 million. Mr. Politis led over 110 Catholic parishes to surpass their fundraising goals, and secure future growth of Catholic parishes and schools in southern New York. 

 

Mr. Politis earned his Masters in Public Administration from the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, CUNY Baruch. His studies focused on nonprofit management and operations. Mr. Politis also received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Information Technology from the Gabelli School of Business, Fordham University. 

 

Mr. Politis looks forward to leading the Greek School of Plato to fulfill its mission and vision, expand the reach of its programs, and ensure the school’s success for generations to come.
