A wonderful part of the traditional piety of the Orthodox Church is contained in the lives of the saints, ascetics, and martyrs of the Church. As their lives are recounted and episodes in their faith journeys are re-told, the faithful are corrected, instructed, and edified by their experiences and inspired by their example.
