Baptism at Metropolis of Boston Fall Camp

At the Metropolis of Boston Camp’s Fall Camp held over Columbus Day weekend, MBC witnessed the Baptism and Chrismation of two of its campers.

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios of Boston, and at the request of Mr. George Paradissis and Dr. Irina Kalatskaya, Sophia and Vasilios Paradissis were baptized in the camp’s St. George Chapel. Sophia and Vasili attended MBC for the first time over Summer 2021, and consequently, asked to be baptized in the Greek Orthodox Church. Fr. Odysseys Drossos, of the St. Nectarios Parish in Roslindale, MA, who catechized the children, conducted the service while campers led the chanting of the sacrament.

This special event in the lives of Sophia and Vasili serves as a testament to the transformative experience offered by MBC and by camping ministries across the Archdiocese.
