Indiana Senate Approves Archon Resolution

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana State Senate recently passed by unanimous voice vote Senate Resolution 2, the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle’s Religious Freedom Resolution in support of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Senate Resolution 2 now awaits a similar resolution to be presented in the Indiana House of Representatives. State Reps. Bob Morris, Hal Slager and Mara Candelaria Reardon have already pledged their support.

When the House of Representatives passes a similar resolution, Indiana will become the 45th state to pass the Archon Resolution. Author of SR2 was Sen. Lonnie Randolph, with Sens. Michael Delph and Susan Glick co-authoring.

Sponsoring SR2 were Sens. Rick Niemeyer, Blake Doriot and John Crane.
