Official Preparations for the 45th Biennial Clergy Laity Congress are Underway

NEW YORK – On Friday, July 12, 2019, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America welcomed His Eminence Metropolitan Savas of Pittsburgh and a delegation from the Metropolis of Pittsburgh to the Archdiocese to discuss plans for the 45th Biennial Clergy Laity Congress of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and the 2020 National Philoptochos Biennial Convention, scheduled to convene in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 28-July 3, 2020.

Upon receiving a thorough presentation and update on the organizational efforts, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros invited Metropolitan Savas to appoint Chairpersons of the event, and to formally proceed with planning and hosting the Congress on behalf of the Archdiocese, while appointing His Grace Bishop Apostolos of Medeia, Chief Secretary of the Holy Eparchial Synod to represent the Archdiocese.

The central theme of the 45th Clergy Laity Congress will be the words of Saint Paul in his First letter to the Corinthians: “… the greatest of these is love.” (1 Cor. 13:13)
In the coming weeks and months, with the appointment of Congress Chairpersons more information, including registration, hotel, and schedules will be announced, and available will be available at www.clergylaity.org  after September 1, 2019.
