Communiqué of the Holy Eparchial Synod

 

Today, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America convened the Holy Eparchial Synod and presented for its consideration a request from His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah of Denver for the election of the Very Rev. Archimandrite Constantine Moralis, Dean of the Annunciation Cathedral in Baltimore, Maryland, as his assistant Bishop.

The Archbishop and the members of the Holy Eparchial Synod unanimously accepted the request of His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah and recommended a triprosopon — as provided for by the Charter of the Archdiocese — consisting of the Very Rev. Archimandrites Constantine Moralis, Stavroforos Mamaies and Chrysostomos Gilbert, which was thereafter sent to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew with the request that once the petition of the Holy Eparchial Synod is approved, the canonical vote would take place.
