Communique From the Holy Eparchial Synod

NEW YORK – On November 22, 2021, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America convened the Holy Eparchial Synod via video conference for a regularly scheduled meeting.

During the session, His Eminence:

1. expressed his many thanks to the Hierarchs and Metropolitan Councils of the Sacred Archdiocese of America for their contributions to the successful visit of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to the United States.
2. thanked the members of the Holy Eparchial Synod, as well as the rest of the Archdiocese’s Hierarchs, for their involvement in the 10th Annual Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops, which was held in Washington, DC, October 2-5, 2021.
3. announced the establishment of a High Council for Greek Education, together with the creation of an Endowment Fund for Greek Education in the Archdiocese of America — following the generous offering of $1,000,000.00 from the will of the ever-memorable Mrs. Suzanne Mados.
4. informed the venerable body of Hierarchs of developments within the administration of the Archdiocese.

Finally, the Archbishop and Synodal Hierarchs exchanged well wishes for Thanksgiving, as well as for a blessed Christmas.
