NJ Parish Greek School Wins Award

UNION, N.J. – St. Demetrios Greek School and its library took part in a competition that was held by the Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs in Greece in cooperation with the Greek Department of the International Board of Books for Young people organization, where schools were being awarded for promoting Greek literature. The school and library won the First Award “Christos Alefantos,” and 500 euros worth of books from the publishing house Kastaniotis. The school and library competed against hundreds of other candidates. The library began with the intiative from Valasia Mouchtidiotou–Georgiou.
