The Orthodox Christian Studies Center of Fordham University, in collaboration with the Department of Religious Education of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, and with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, is pleased to present the Speaker Series: Orthodox Scholars Preach.
Every week until Pascha, a different Orthodox Scholar will release a new video. This Series provides a platform for Orthodox scholars to reflect on the spiritual themes of each Sunday's liturgical calendar while drawing on their expertise.
This week's video features Dr. Donna Rizk Asdourian. Dr. Asdourian was the first Coptic female to receive a generous grant from the Orthodox Christian Studies Center and work as a Research Fellow at Fordham University, focusing on "Women's Role in the Liturgy: The Coptic and Oriental Orthodox Churches." She holds a masters degree from Holy Cross Orthodox Seminary, a Masters in Eastern Christian Studies from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in Theology from King's College London. She is the author of numerous academic articles and authors a theological blog, learnpraylove.com. Dr. Asdourian is also the founder of Orthodox Women's Ministry, an official nonprofit 501(c)(3) that focuses on exemplifying women's voices and building a diverse pan-Orthodox community of women globally through their social media platform.
