We, the members of the Archdiocesan Council state the following:

WHEREAS, His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane, a man of deep faith has served the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in many capacities since 1985, especially in his current position as Chancellor of the Archdiocese for the past 11 years;

WHEREAS, His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane has demonstrated great pastoral care and attention in implementing the policies and controls to resolve the recent challenges faced by the Archdiocese;

WHEREAS, His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane has labored with much dedication and love towards: the completion of the new St. Michael’s home for the Aged of which he has served as Director since 1996, Director the Archdiocese’s Department of Philanthropy since 2000, and the purchasing of a new youth camp site for the Direct Archdiocesan District;

WHEREAS, His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane has indicated his desire to enact the process of transition toward his retirement;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Archdiocesan Council hereby expresses its deepest gratitude and most sincere appreciation to His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane for his broad and most dedicated service to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese;

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Archdiocesan Council wishes His Grace all of God’s blessings from above, and that our Lord grant him many years of health and peace, rightly keeping the word of His truth.
