Successful BeeTreat in Winston-Salem, NC

On Saturday October 23, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Winston-Salem hosted a BeeTreat for area parishes.

Started in August 2015, BeeTreats have developed from simple parish youth retreats to more sophisticated pan-Orthodox / regional experiences for youth (6th – 12th grades) and adults. The faithful attended from as far away as Charlotte, NC.

"I would like to express my wholehearted thankfulness for your kindness in coming to our Parish enthusiastically catechize our youth through your unique and God-inspired program," said Father George Kouzelis, parish priest of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

BeeTreats introduce people to lived and embodied practices that help open their hearts to God and neighbor: silence, listening, intercessory prayer, and service.

On Saturday evening, after the main portion of the BeeTreat, Steve and Christian led a discussion for young adults.

On Sunday morning, Steven Christoforou offered the sermon during Divine Liturgy (available here) and then led a discussion with Sunday School students.

Y2AM is currently on pace to complete its 50th BeeTreat later this season, and will have served over 5,000 people in the process.

BeeTreats are made possible by a generous grant from Leadership 100.
