Leadership 100 Joins Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation as a Founding Member

The Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Fund has announced that it is becoming a Founding Member of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation: For the Sacred See of Saint Andrew.

In 1984, under the guidance of His Eminence Archbishop Iakovos, Leadership 100 was created as an endowment fund of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese to provide an opportunity for Greek Orthodox leaders to support the life-sustaining ministries of the Church. The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation, a watershed initiative of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, is dedicated to achieving economic independence for the Ecumenical Patriarchate, so that it may fulfill its apostolic mission in perpetuity.

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America stated: “Leadership 100’s decision to become a Founding Member of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation is in keeping with its core mission. Leadership 100 is dedicated to sustaining the Church and securing its financial stability for future generations; its support for the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation is the quintessential fulfillment of this mission.”

Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and Chair of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation, said: “We are delighted and grateful that Leadership 100 has become a Founding Member of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation. For over three decades now, Leadership 100 has been serving as the only endowment fund that addresses the future needs of our children and grandchildren in preserving the spiritual treasures of our Orthodox Faith and the life-giving legacy of Hellenism. Leadership 100’s becoming a Founding Member is the crown of that ministry.”

Archon Argyris Vassiliou, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Leadership 100, said: “It is a great honor for all of us at Leadership 100, and for all Orthodox Christians, to have an opportunity to help ensure that the Ecumenical Patriarchate is able to fulfill its divine mission in perpetuity.”

Paulette Poulos, Leadership 100’s Executive Director, added: “Leadership 100 was established for the purpose of seeding and nurturing programs that advance Orthodoxy and Hellenism. There is no better way to advance Orthodoxy and Hellenism than by endeavoring to secure the financial stability of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.”

Founding Members of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation have committed to ensuring the financial foundation of the Holy Mother Church, the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, by pledging $100,000 over 10 years.
