Saturday of Souls Memorial Services at HCHC

Saturday of Souls Memorial Services at HCHC

In the Greek Orthodox Church, there is an important and longstanding tradition of praying to God for our departed brothers and sisters. Saturday is the day of the week which is traditionally reserved for those who have fallen asleep, because our Lord’s own salvific passing took place on Great and Holy Saturday.

While each Saturday provides an opportunity for the remembrance of those who have fallen asleep, the next three Saturdays are called the “Saturday of Souls,” which are designated specifically for this purpose.

This March 6, March 13, and March 20 Hellenic College Holy Cross will be live-streaming the Divine Liturgy and the memorial services for the Saturday of the Souls in our beloved Holy Cross Chapel. To watch services, please visit https://www.hchc.edu/chapel-services-livestream

You are invited to share your prayer list of memorial names with our Chaplain. To light a virtual candle in our Holy Cross Chapel and add your prayer list, please visit  https://www.hchc.edu/give/light-a-candle/.

All memorial names must be submitted no later than 8:00 AM on Friday morning to be included in the memorial service the following Saturday.

Thank you for your support.  May God bless you and give you comfort and peace.
