Fr. Soterios Baroody Appointed Chief Financial Officer

NEW YORK – His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America has announced the appointment of Fr. Soterios Baroody as Chief Financial Officer of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America effective April 3, 2017. The Chief Financial Officer is a newly created position at the Archdiocese.

Archbishop Demetrios stated “the appointment of Fr. Soterios as Chief Financial Officer fulfills part of the changes to the financial operations of the Archdiocese that have been in the planning stages by the Administration of the Church. His responsibilities will enhance the current financial operations of the Church including finance, treasury, budgeting and accounting.” 

Father Soterios Baroody was ordained to the Diaconate, Dec. 4, 2011 by His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane, and to the Priesthood Dec. 18, 2011 by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) from the American University of Beirut, a Masters of Divinity from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, and a Masters of Accounting (MSA) from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Fr. Soterios has been the Comptroller of the Archdiocese since November 2011.
