Announcing the 2021 Frank Desby and Xenia Anton Desby Memorial Church Music Scholarship Recipients

The Church Music Federation Ministry of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2021 Frank Desby and Xenia Anton Desby Memorial Church Scholarship. This year, the Metropolis Music Ministry offered scholarships of up to $500 each applicants interested in furthering their education to support their involvement in parish music ministry.

This year’s applications were carefully reviewed by a committee of professionally trained musicians, who ultimately awarded scholarships to three (3) applicants between the ages of 20 to 39 years old. These candidates represent parishes from three regions of the Metropolis of San Francisco. The enthusiasm and dedication of this year’s scholarship recipients is indicative of their commitment to not only improving their personal knowledge, but creating a beautiful and prayerful environment for worship that focuses on the rich hymnology of our faith.

The 2021 Church Music Scholarship recipients are:

·      Nicholas Dudler – St. Demetrios and Assumption, Seattle, WA

·      George Miller – Assumption, Scottsdale, AZ

·      Ross Ritterman – Holy Cross, Belmont, CA
