New York, NY The newly established Archdiocesan Metropolitan Youth Choir will debut with A Christmas Concert on Thursday evening, Dec. 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 319 East 74th St., New York City.
On January 20th, 2001, the day of celebration of the Three Hierarchs and Greek Letters, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America expressed his desire for the establishment of a childrens choir. This choir, which consists of students of the day and afternoon schools of the metropolitan area, is now a reality. Ms. Maria Koleva, music director, is a graduate of the Vienna Musical Academy and the Tchaikovsky State Academy of Music, Moscow, with extensive experience teaching music, piano and conducting.
The public is invited to attend.
