Annunciation School Graduation, Metropolis of Atlanta

On Thursday, May 27, 2021 Annunciation Day School in Atlanta celebrated its fourth Eighth Grade Commencement Ceremony.  Annunciation Day School is a ministry of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, a part of the Metropolis of Atlanta.  

The Commencement Ceremony began with an Invocation and Prayer Service led  by His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta and assisted by His Grace Bishop Sebastian, Rev. Fr. Paul Kaplanis, Rev. Father Christos Mars, and Deacon Andrew Wythe.  Annunciation Day School was founded in 2002 and educates over 150 students in preschool through eighth grade.  The graduates will be attending St. Pius X High School, Lakeside High School, Brookwood High School and MacIntosh High School next year.

The ceremony included remarks from the Head of School, Janet Brown, Father Paul Kaplanis, Dean, Dr. Nick Demos, Head of the School Board, and Mrs. Irene Fotos, past Board Chair.  Mrs. Maria Chininis gave the Commencement Address followed by comments from His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios.  The graduates were given advice for their lives after attending Annunciation Day School including keeping your Church, family and education as priorities in life.  

Graduates also received awards for Honor Roll and special awards were given by faculty to Zoe Mitchell for Citizenship, Elshaddai Yonas for Teacher's Choice Book Award and Dee Dee Kostopoulos for the James D. Fotos award.    Congratulations to this fourth graduating class!
