His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros
Invocation, Remarks, and Benediction
32nd Annual Leadership 100 Conference General Assembly
February 3, 2023
The Phoenician – Salons H, I, & J
My Dear Friends,
Let us pray to the Lord. Kyrie Eleison.
O Lord Jesus Christ our God, You have promised that when “two or three” are gathered together in Your Holy Name, there You will be in the midst of them. We come before You today as your servants and stewards of the Household of God, in service to our Holy Church. We entreat Your Majesty: Accept our offerings of thanksgiving and service, for they are given in sincerity of heart and without reservation. Bless this gathering of faithful stewards of Your gifts, and grant us the wisdom and vision to perceive Your will for Your own People; through the prayers of Your All-Holy Mother, and of all the Saints. Amen.
Since I have already had the floor this morning, I will not impede the work of this General Assembly with further elocution. However, there is something very important for all of us to witness.
Leadership One Hundred has always been blessed with tremendous leadership. We now are under the chairmanship of the outstanding Jim Logothetis.
At this moment, however, I would like us all to recognize Argyris Vassiliou, who served for two terms as Leadership Chairman, and was the first Chairman with whom I had the honor to work. Especially at the height of the pandemic, R. J. proved to be a true pillar of the faith and of our Sacred Archdiocese.
I now call him to come forward, and receive the highest honor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America – the Medal of Saint Paul.
This Medal of Saint Paul is presented to Argyris Vassiliou:
For his devoted service to the Church, our Ecumenical Patriarchate, our Sacred Archdiocese, and Leadership One Hundred;
For his wise counsel, dedicated presence, and kind disposition;
For his goodness, patience, and unswerving fidelity;
The Medal of Saint Paul is presented with gratitude and respect.
Thank you, and let us return to the proceedings at hand.
Let us close our Assembly today, by reciting together the Prayer par excellence that our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to pray:
