Zodoohos Peghe Celebrated in the Bronx

“And now, my beloved friends, turn your imagination to this place – the wonderful Ζωοδόχος Πηγή of the Bronx. What are you looking for tonight? What is the desire that you wish to make known to God and His Holy Mother?

As you enter this Church, you are already passing through the Gate of the Fountain – the Πύλη τῆς Πηγῆς. You are making your way in a spiritual journey, passing through a portal that leads to the refreshment of your souls in the lifegiving waters that our Panagia grants us.” (full text here) said His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros while presiding over Great Vespers in celebration of the feast day of the Zodoohos Peghe parish in Bronx, NY on Thursday evening, April 20, 2023. His Eminence was assisted by the chancellor of the Archdiocesan District, Protopresbyter Elias Villis, the proistamenos of the parish Rev. Economos Vasilios Louros and area clergy from the District. A highlight of the evening was the tonsuring of five young men as readers in the Church: Theodore Tsougranis, Alexander Maris, Yiannis Mamais, Athanasios Pappas and George Orfanos.
