YAL Conference in Pittsburgh, PA Draws 300 Young Adults

With the esteemed blessing and pastoral leadership of His Eminence Metropolitan Savas of Pittsburgh, this past weekend, the Metropolis of Pittsburgh welcomed 300 Young Adults from 29 different states for their YAL Conference in Pittsburgh, PA. With the theme Conquer: The Struggle is Real ("In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world." John 16:32), they worked to empower their participants to overcome the difficulties of this world through the love and power of Jesus Christ. 

Dr. Albert Rossi served as the Keynote Speaker and spoke on "Being More Courageous". He was joined by 5 Workshop Speakers who covered topics Young Adults struggle with in the world today: Mr. Nicholas Anton "Human Trafficking: A Spiritual & Moral Crisis", Fr. Dr. Martin Johnson "Does the Word of God have a Seat at the Table: The Voices of Culture", Mrs. Nita Kambouroglos "Keeping the Balls in the Air", Fr. Dimitrios Kyritsis "From Cop to Collar", and Fr. Luke Veronis "Witnessing Our Faith in the World Today".

Highlights of the weekend included a welcoming event at PNC Park (home of the Pittsburgh Pirates), making almost 100 fleece blankets to be donated to the Neighborhood Resiliency Project (Non-Profit in Pittsburgh, PA geared toward helping those in need), Dinner Dance at St. Nicholas Cathedral and Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity, Pittsburgh. With strict COVID protocols in place to keep everyone safe, it was a blessing this event was able to happen in person.
