George Tsunis Appointed Co-Vice Chairman of the Archdiocese’s National Coordinating Committee

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America has appointed Mr. George Tsunis to serve as the co-Vice Chairman of the Archdiocese’s National Coordinating Committee commemorating the historic Greek Revolution of 1821. The Committee is comprised of individuals and organizations representing the fullness of the Omogenia in the United States

“Celebrating our rich Hellenic culture and the reverberating effect of the Greek Revolution of 1821 must be central to any conversation happening in our Archdiocese today,” commented Mr. Tsunis. “In every part of the country, groups, parishes, clubs, and organizations are figuring out how to celebrate this historic event. And now, as we begin to see a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, we will continue the hard work of the Committee to ensure that these 200 years are celebrated with the dignity they should rightfully be afforded.”

Mr. Tsunis is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Order of Saint Andrew and a member of Leadership 100. He serves as the chairman and CEO of Chartwell Hotels, as well as the Chairman of the Battery Park City Authority of the City of New York.
