Saint Basil Academy 2022 Christmas Pageant

On Saturday, December 10th, Saint Basil Academy held its annual Christmas celebration. Honored guests included the Consul General of Greece to New York, Mr. Konstantine Konstantinou, the Supreme President of Ahepa, Mr. Jimmy Kokotas, Grand President of the Daughters of Penelope, Ms. Georgette Boulegeris, President of the Maids of Athena, Ms. Maria Ana Pantelous, and members of the Saint Basil Board of Trustees including Board President, Dr. Steve Gounardes.

The celebration began with the children of Saint Basil Academy presenting a play about The Nativity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well as an art exhibit about what represents community for them.  The fasting luncheon that followed was filled with entertainment, including singing by the Holy Cross Greek Afternoon School of Whitestone, NY and dancing by the United Cyprians of America Dance Troupe from Astoria and the Saint Demetrios Dance Troupe of Jamaica, NY.  The centerpieces for the luncheon featured Gingerbread houses made by the children of Saint Basil Academy and our friends from the Sunday School and Greek School programs at the Cathedral of Saint John the Theologian in Tenafly, NJ. The celebration culminated with the Saint Basil Academy children opening gifts from our incredibly generous donors. It was a truly joyful occasion enjoyed by all. Kala Xristougenna from all of us at Saint Basil Academy!
